The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)

Help Choose GC’s NEXT QEP!

In preparation for Georgia College’s 2024 reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the institution is required to submit a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) that is designed to improve an aspect of student learning and/or student success, and, therefore, enhances the overall quality of the students’ educational experience. The QEP is a 5-year initiative that is academic or co-curricular in nature and encompasses a particular theme or topic.

GC’s 2014 Quality Enhancement Plan, ENGAGE, had as its focus community-based engaged learning. This QEP is very much still in practice at GC as faculty members continue to engage their students in courses which have a strong emphasis and central focus of service learning in our local community. While ENGAGE was officially retired in 2019 as GC’s QEP, it has continued to be an integral part of GC’s mission and practice. You can read more about GC’s last QEP here.

It is now time for GC to identify a new Quality Enhancement Plan! (QEP). The topic of the QEP is chosen collaboratively by university stake-holders including faculty, staff, students, and external constituents. We plan to work through the topic selection process this fall and spring, and expect to have a topic chosen by May, 2022.

Please plan to join the university community this and next semester as we choose the topic of GC’s next QEP (2024-2029).
